Road Trip — Portugal
Espigueiro #113 (2004)
-
Located in Peneda Gerês National Park in Lindoso (Portugal), there is a collection of well-preserved granaries. These granite structures are designed to store and protect grain from rodents and are also used for drying agricultural produce. The granaries sit atop granite pillars known as "rat traps/"torna-ratos", which prevent rodents from accessing the stored grain. Additionally, the walls of the granaries feature openings that facilitate air circulation.
