Urbino #192 (2010)
-
Urbino is an Italian Renaissance city that rivaled Florence. Situated in the hills of the Marche region, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has remained virtually unchanged since the 15th century. The photograph depicts part of the Ducal Palace and the Cathedral. The architecture, characterised by brick and terracotta buildings, is surrounded by fields predominantly filled with sunflowers. Urbino is also renowned as the birthplace of Raphael Sanzio, one of the greatest masters of the Renaissance."
