Rebuilding Memories / Landscape and Nature

Camargue #189 (2010)

  • Beyond its ecological richness, the Little Rhône conveys a tranquil sense of rhythm and transition, revealed during a brief boat journey along its calm waters. The slow movement of the river shapes the banks and the lives along them, marking a fragile boundary between land and marsh. In the Camargue, nature is not a backdrop but an active presence, where wind, light, and water constantly reshape the landscape. This balance between permanence and change gives the scene a contemplative quality, and the photograph seeks to retain this suspended moment, in which biodiversity, territory, and time gently align.
