Work-in-Progress

This dissertation examines the documentation and dissemination of artworks through photography, arguing that a particular form of photographic practice can be understood as an artistic approach while preserving its documentary purpose. It also explores how photographic interpretation contributes to the experience and understanding of the artwork.

STIMULUS SALIENCE — THE FRAMEWORK

This ability to capture attention occurs when something is perceptually valued compared to other elements in the same visible space. It is usually done by comparison, and the greater the contrast between the objects, the more prominent the difference becomes. The objects' size, colour, shape, and brightness can also influence this highlight.
We believe that when this salience of stimuli is associated with the points considered ideal in the two-dimensional plane, they become more visible to the image viewer.
