Every road trip begins long before the engine starts. This opening section introduces a long journey across Europe, from Cabo da Roca to the North Cape. It explains the structure of the Daily Journal, which documents each stage, creating a chronological archive of the landscape, local communities, and the experience of travel.

Preparation for our journey to the North Cape continues as we adapt our Volkswagen Transporter for extended travel. The vehicle is being equipped with a dedicated sleeping area, creating a practical base for photography, exploration and life on the road. More updates on the build and the route will follow soon.

We’re thinking about travelling through Europe soon. We’re identifying destinations, some we want to revisit, others will be new. Norway and the NC500 in Scotland are potential options, but other locations may still emerge along the way and beyond. We’ll begin this trip at the Westernmost point of Europe.
